Y.B. Services is looking to hire an experienced Parts Department Manager to join our expanding team in Yellowknife, Northwest Territories. We specialize in all heavy truck and equipment repairs and carry a selection of OEM brands and aftermarket products.

Job Summary:
Reporting to the President, the Parts Department Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the parts department in a heavy equipment repair and sales shop.
This role is responsible for managing inventory, coordinating with technicians, sales teams, and customers, to ensure efficient ordering processes, and providing excellent customer service. The Parts Department Manager plays a key role in maintaining the smooth operation of the shop by ensuring that parts are available when needed and are priced appropriately.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inventory Management: Maintain optimal stock levels for all parts, ensuring availability while minimizing excess inventory. Regularly review inventory reports and perform audits.
- Vendor Relationships: Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors.
- Order Fulfillment: Oversee parts ordering, receiving, and distribution processes. Ensure all orders are fulfilled accurately and on time for both internal technicians and external customers.
- Customer Service: Provide exceptional service to customers by responding to inquiries, processing orders, and addressing any issues. Assist customers in identifying the right parts for their needs.
- Team Leadership: Supervise daily and train parts advisors(as needed.) Ensure team members are knowledgeable, motivated, and delivering high levels of performance.
- Budgeting and Pricing: Develop and manage the parts department budget. Set pricing for parts in line with company policies, market conditions, and profit margins.
- Sales Support: Collaborate with the sales department to provide parts for new and used heavy equipment sales. Assist in creating parts packages and promotions to boost sales.
- Coordination with Technicians: Work closely with service technicians to understand parts needs and ensure timely availability for repairs and maintenance projects.
- Reporting and Analysis: Generate and analyze reports on parts usage, sales trends, and profitability. Make recommendations for process improvements and cost-saving measures.
- Health and Safety Compliance: Ensure all parts of department operations comply with safety regulations and company policies.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Proven experience in a parts supervisor/management role, preferably in heavy equipment or automotive industries.
- Knowledge of heavy equipment brands and parts.
- Familiarity with parts catalogs, equipment diagrams, and vendor ordering systems.
- Strong understanding of inventory management systems and procurement processes.
- Proficiency in using inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and customer service skills.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
- Willing to work overtime as needed
Preferred Qualifications:
- Class 5 Drivers License
- Parts Technician Certificate
- 5-10 years experience
- Previous experience in a heavy equipment repair or auto repair sales environment.
