Job Overview
Hawthorne Seniors Care Community is seeking an experienced and service-oriented Manager of Facilities & Maintenance to oversee maintenance operations across our properties.
Reporting to the CEO, this role is responsible for the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of buildings, grounds, equipment, and building systems. The successful candidate will lead maintenance staff and contractors, oversee preventive and corrective maintenance programs, coordinate repairs and facility upgrades, support capital projects, manage vendor relationships, and help ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
This position combines hands-on operational oversight with leadership responsibilities in a seniors care environment.
What You Will Bring
- Strong leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills.
- Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Working knowledge of building systems, including electrical, HVAC, low-voltage, and related maintenance equipment.
- Proficiency with computerized maintenance management systems used to track work orders, inventory, and equipment history.
- Sound judgment, problem-solving skills, and the ability to make effective decisions.
- Strong budgeting skills and financial awareness.
- Project management skills, including the ability to plan, coordinate, and oversee complex work.
- Knowledge of safety regulations, environmental requirements, and safe work practices.
- Experience leading maintenance staff, contractors, or similar teams.
Qualifications
- Degree or diploma in Engineering, Facilities Management, Certified tradesperson in a relevant trade, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- At least 5 years of progressive experience in facilities and maintenance management, including leadership responsibilities.
