The successful candidate will be responsible for providing clerical and secretarial services for the Laboratory office. Specific duties include: reception, patient specimen registration, phone call management, dicta typing and transcription, maintaining records, data entry, room bookings, office process coordination and administrative support.
Grade 12 education or equivalent
Graduate of a recognized Medical Secretarial Diploma with Specialization in Medical Transcription
Medical terminology in pathology is required
Solid transcription experience is required
Strong demonstrated use of Microsoft Office applications; MS Word and Excel
Excellent interpersonal, communication, attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
Must be able to work independently and as part of a team
Previous hospital and Epic experience preferred
Availability to work all shifts
Satisfactory attendance and performance record required
