IIn accordance with the Vision, Purpose, and Values, and strategic direction of the Vancouver Island Health Authority (Island Health) patient and staff safety is a priority and a responsibility shared by everyone; as such, the requirement to continuously improve quality and safety is inherent in all aspects of this position.
Population and Public Health Registered Nurse practices in accordance with relevant provincial legislation, nursing standards, BCCDC policies/standards, the code of ethics as outlined by the BC College of Nurses and Midwives and the Canadian Nurses Association (CNA), employer policies and individual competencies. Provides nursing care in accordance with established organizational policies, procedures, guidelines and other controls on practice.
Working in the community setting the Population and Public Health Registered Nurse provides testing and immunization services, education and promotion to clients, including individuals, families, groups and communities.
Travel may be a requirement of this position. Transportation arrangements must meet the operational requirements of Island Health in accordance with the service assignment and may require the use of a personal vehicle.
Registration with BC College of Nurses and Midwives as a practicing RN registrant and knowledge of current immunization practices; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Valid BC Driver's License.
