Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Construction Superintendent to lead and manage projects from inception through completion. The successful candidate will oversee all on-site activities, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This role requires strong leadership, attention to detail, and a solid understanding of construction management practices.
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum 5 years of construction experience
- Experience with modular school installations is considered an asset
- Strong commitment to workplace safety and compliance
- Strong knowledge of construction practices, codes, and safety regulations
- Valid safety certifications (e.g., CSTS, First Aid) are considered an asset
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise daily construction operations, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and building codes
- Coordinate and manage subcontractors, suppliers, and site personnel to meet project milestones and deadlines
- Interpret and review blueprints, drawings, and specifications to ensure accurate execution
- Maintain high standards of quality control throughout all phases of construction
- Assist with project budgeting, cost tracking, and construction estimating
- Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress, quality, and safety compliance
- Communicate effectively with project stakeholders, providing updates and addressing challenges proactively
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Construction Superintendent or in a similar leadership role
- Strong knowledge of construction processes, quality control, and industry best practices
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
- Experience with construction estimating and budget management
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to lead teams while fostering a positive and collaborative work environment
