Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Overnight Veterinary Assistant to join our team. As a Veterinary Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing compassionate care to our animal patients and supporting our veterinary staff.
Duties include but are not limited to.
- Assist veterinarians and veterinary technicians in providing medical care to animals
- Prepare examination rooms and ensure they are clean and stocked with necessary supplies
- Restrain animals during examinations and procedures
- Prepare laboratory samples for testing
- Perform routine laboratory procedures, such as blood tests and urinalysis
- Assist with radiographs and other diagnostic imaging procedures
- Clean and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment
Skills
To be successful in this role, you should possess the following skills:
- Strong knowledge of laboratory procedures, including sample collection and handling
- Familiarity with medical terminology related to veterinary medicine
- Ability to handle animals with care and compassion
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work well in a team environment
Shifts
The shift is 8:00 PM–6:30 AM on a rotating 4 days on, 4 days off schedule. We also offer a $4/hour overnight premium for this shift.
