Frontier-Kemper Constructors, ULC, a leader in heavy civil construction and underground construction in North America and Canada, is seeking experienced candidates for an experienced Mechanic at our Kemano Project located in Kemano, British Columbia, Canada.

The position is responsible for performing preventive maintenance and repair work on mining and tunneling equipment. A well rounded mechanical skill set, willingness to learn and work well with others both in and out of their immediate department are essential.

The essential functions of the position are:
Mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic repairs to Frontier-Kemper equipment.
Executing planned preventative maintenance on Frontier-Kemper equipment.
Operation of heavy construction equipment for the purposes of identifying, diagnosing, and repairing reported problems.
Testing and evaluating equipment to assess damage and wear.
Periodic light welding as it pertains to equipment repairs.
Periodic facility maintenance and repairs to work areas.
Well rounded mechanical skill set, willingness to learn and work well with others both in and out of their immediate department.
Work overtime as needed.

The successful candidate will have:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Red seal Heavy Duty Mechanic or 3rd year apprentice
Five (5) years mining or heavy equipment mechanic experience considered an asset.
Experience with mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems preferred.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Familiar with shop practices including machine work, mechanical repair and steel fabrication.
Familiar with and the ability to execute planned preventative maintenance programs.
