Play a leadership role

Job Type:
o Full-time: Monday to Friday – Start time between 8:00 and 9:00 AM (TBD)
o Training Period (approximately 3 months) - 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM (or as otherwise agreed)
o Hybrid environment with 3 days required in the office.
Job Location:
Toronto, ON - Office is located at 421 Bloor East (across the street from Sherbourne subway stop)
Summary of Responsibilities:
· Load balancing
o Staff scheduling (hours; vacations; coverage for absences);
o Expeditor/monitor shared mailboxes; and,
o Back-up Translation Coordinators and Team Lead, as required.
· Teamwork:
o Job shadow team members to understand and identify process improvement opportunities;
o Ensure all Quality Management System content is current, and that processes are followed;
o Oversee a pool of freelance translators; and,
o Perform yearly performance reviews of the department and regular 1-on-1’s.
· Process improvement and training
o Translation industry involvement;
o Identify issues and implement efficiencies to deliver better service;
o Create tickets and work with IT to implement updates; and,
o Organize or deliver team training – roll-out of updated processes and/or cross-train.
o follow-ups, calling campaigns
· Client Service
o RFP and quote response support – guidance on resources; assist with references; etc.
o Quote approver (under $2,000 for existing clients)
o Review client complaints and ensure proper resolution
o Review department reports and action as needed
o Project kick off meeting and/or Account management for large value clients
Skills and attributes
o Experienced leader with great attention to detail and command of the English language;
o Happy to prioritize, solve problems, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment;
o Tech-savvy, with strong knowledge of CRM, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint;
o Able to articulate and share operational strategy and plans with ease; and,
o Excellent organizational, customer service, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
Education
o Post-secondary education, ideally in Translation, Linguistics, or Business Administration
Experience
o 5+ years of experience managing teams in a B2B environment; and
o Change management to lead and implement new processes and technologies.
o Note: Management and/or leadership experience in a translation or interpreting environment would be an asset.
