This is a Union position (BCGEU) 2 day / wk position Tues&Thurs 9-3 with the option of picking up casual shifts M,W,F dayshift. You would have the opportunity to work with a great Team at Satori and work in one of the most rewarding jobs!
You would - not be returning to school in the fall - You woud be physically able with good strength to push a large wheelchair. You would be compassionate, enjoy being active, have a positive mind set, be light hearted and playful in a Community Support Worker role. You would be working with a friendly, young woman with who has a developmental disability and requires full time 1-1 support in all aspects ofher day. You would be supportive in her communication, personal care & g-tube feeding, building relationships, developing lifeskills and being a positive part of community.
You would be calm but energetic and fun. Competent working alone and in group settings and be physically aware of good body mechanics. Regular communication with family and other caregivers is imperative.
You would require :
-Use of your own vehicle in good working order (with clear access to back seat space for individual - for casual work)
- Vehicle and full Class 5 drivers’ license (no ‘N’ no ‘L’)
-Clear Drivers abstract
- 5 million liability & business use on insurance
-Cell phone
-Clear criminal record check
- Current First Aid and CPR - or certify within 1st month of hiring. (St John's Emergency First Aid,Community Care / Basic First Aid - Formerly WorkSafeBC Occupational First Aid Level 1) . This is a job requirement - Employer does not pay - only renewals if hired.
