Our team is growing, and we are looking for a reliable customer service professional to manage our retail and trade counter.
Position Summary
As a Shop Counter Person, you are the face of our branch. You will greet customers, answer product questions, pull inventory, and process sales. If you enjoy solving problems, working with people, and learning about mechanical or electrical parts, this role is perfect for you.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet walk-in contractors and retail customers at the sales counter.
- Identify specific electrical parts, tools, and components based on customer requests.
- Process cash, debit, credit, and account transactions accurately using our point-of-sale (POS) system.
- Answer incoming phone calls to check stock levels, provide pricing, and take telephone orders.
- Pick, pack, and stage orders for customer pickup or delivery.
- Restock store shelves.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe showroom and counter area.
Qualifications and Skills
- Experience: 1–2 years of counter sales, retail customer service, or warehouse experience (industry experience in electrical, plumbing, automotive parts, or hardware is highly valued).
- Communication: Strong English communication skills to assist diverse customers clearly and politely.
- Tech Skills: Basic computer literacy to look up inventory, use POS software, and respond to emails.
- Physical Fitness: Ability to stand for long periods and safely lift boxes weighing up to 40 lbs (18 kg).
- Traits: Punctual, organized, and eager to learn technical product details.
