Job Description:
Our client is a leader in the new home building industry in the Winnipeg area and is looking for a strong Drafting Technician. They’re seeking someone who is a self-starter, eager to learn, brings a positive attitude, and works well in a team environment.
Reporting directly to the Drafting Manager, responsibilities include:
- Preparing preliminary plot plans and customer working drawings
- Developing site plans and detailed grading plans
- Producing final house plans for production
- Preparing and submitting building permit applications, and tracking approvals
- Customizing standard building plans based on client selections and upgrades
- Collaborating with internal teams including Production Managers
- 3+ years of drafting/design experience in residential construction
- Diploma or degree in Architectural Technology or Design
- Strong understanding of Manitoba/National Building Codes and construction practices
- Solid construction knowledge (building technology, materials, processes)
- Proficiency with AutoCAD, SoftPlan, and Microsoft Office
- Strong communication skills and ability to work in a fast-paced team environment
