Clinical Product & Innovation Associate
PsyMatch | Ottawa, Ontario | Full-time
Help build a better way to assess mental health
PsyMatch is an Ottawa-based digital-health company developing a new approach to structured mental-health assessment.
PsyMatch uses an independently developed computerized structured diagnostic interview to help clinicians obtain a comprehensive picture of a patient's mental health before or as part of clinical care. The platform is being developed for applications including primary care, mental-health practice, clinical research and healthcare systems.
We are looking for an exceptional recent graduate who wants something more challenging than a conventional entry-level position.
You will work directly with PsyMatch's founders, clinical researchers and technical team and gain hands-on experience across clinical product development, quality assurance, research, primary-care implementation and commercialization.
What you'll do
Your responsibilities will evolve with the company and may include:
- Test PsyMatch from both patient and clinician perspectives and identify clinical, technical and usability issues.
- Help design and execute systematic quality-assurance testing of interview questions, branching logic, diagnostic outputs and clinical reports.
- Support ongoing clinical validation and research projects, including data organization, literature reviews and preparation of research materials.
- Help develop and document new clinical assessment capabilities.
- Work with the team on implementation of PsyMatch in primary-care settings, including clinician onboarding, workflow development and pilot projects.
- Gather and analyze feedback from physicians, clinicians and patients and translate it into product improvements.
- Prepare clinician guides, training materials, product documentation and other resources.
- Conduct healthcare market and competitor research.
- Help identify prospective clinics, physician groups, healthcare organizations and strategic partners.
- Support presentations, demonstrations, conferences and commercialization activities.
- Take ownership of new projects as PsyMatch grows.
This is not primarily an administrative position. We are looking for someone who wants to learn quickly, solve problems and become deeply involved in building a healthcare product.
Who we're looking for
You may be a recent graduate in:
Psychology - Neuroscience - Health Sciences - Cognitive Science - Health Informatics - Biomedical Sciences - Public Health - Business - Computer Science
—or another field that has given you relevant skills.
You do not need to be a software developer.
We're more interested in how you think.
The ideal candidate is exceptionally detail-oriented, analytical and curious; writes and communicates extremely well; is comfortable with technology and data; can learn unfamiliar software quickly; has an interest in mental health and healthcare innovation; and enjoys figuring out why something isn't working and how to make it better.
You should also be comfortable working in an early-stage company where the answer to “Whose job is this?” will occasionally be “ours.”
Why this role is different
You'll work directly with PsyMatch's founders rather than several organizational layers away from the product.
You'll have exposure to the entire process of bringing a health technology to market—from clinical research and validation through product testing, physician implementation and commercialization.
For the right person, the position could provide a foundation for a career in digital health, clinical product management, healthcare innovation, research and validation, product quality, implementation, or business development.
