Responsibilities
- Administer medication as prescribed, ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and preferences.
- Provide personal care, including assistance with bathing, grooming, and dressing.
- Offer companionship and engage clients in meaningful activities to enhance their well-being.
- Assist with mobility and transportation needs, ensuring safety during transitions.
- Maintain a clean and organized living space for clients, promoting hygiene and comfort.
- Support clients with dementia care by implementing strategies that foster cognitive engagement.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to monitor client health and report any changes.
Skills
- Proven experience in caregiving, particularly in home care or assisted living settings.
- Knowledge of medication administration protocols and best practices.
- Familiarity with dementia care techniques to support cognitive function and emotional well-being.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with clients, families, and team members.
- Ability to work compassionately with individuals with disabilities or those requiring additional support.
- A commitment to maintaining a clean environment conducive to the health of clients.
- Experience in senior care settings such as nursing homes or assisted living facilities is preferred but not required.
