About SNIWWOC:
The Support Network for Indigenous Women & Women of Colour (SNIWWOC) is committed to the empowerment of women. We are one of a handful of reproductive justice organizations in the country, focusing on the wellbeing of Indigenous women and women of colour.
We believe that when women and girls live a life free from violence, they can fully realize and exercise their sexual and reproductive health and rights. When young people have access to accurate information and services on sexual and reproductive health, they can make informed decisions about their bodies and lives.
About the Position:
This is a graphic design position responsible for executing visual components of SNIWWOC’s marketing strategy using art and graphic design.
This position is funded by the Government of Canada. Only Canadian citizens or permanent resident students can apply. International students are not eligible.
Location: Victoria, BC or remote
Position Type: 15 hours/week
Start Date: September 2026
Compensation: $24/hour
Job Duties:
- Developing graphics and other content based on marketing, events and programming needs
- Delivering website changes and content upgrades
- Reviewing content to make sure it’s accurate, relevant, and matches our style guide
- Optimize content for social media and manage SNIWWOC’s website and social media channels
- Work with various content formats such as blogs, videos, audio podcasts, etc
- Arranging and liaising with staff to deliver content that meets internal goals and objectives
Skills and Experience:
- Due to funding requirements, must be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident. International students are not eligible
- Must be an undergraduate student enrolled in a Canadian university
- Excellent graphic design and writing skills
- Effective communication skills and the ability to express views and ideas in writing and via art
- Experience creating materials for the online environment and for a range of different audiences.
- Strong understanding of reproductive justice and its impacts on women of colour, indigenous women, two-spirit and non-binary individuals
- Excellent interpersonal communications skills, with the ability to work well in a team and build relationships with people from a diversity of backgrounds.
- Due to funding requirements, must be a student under the age of 30, currently enrolled in a university program.
