Wage: $20–$22 per hour + Wage Enhancement
Responsibilities
- Plan and implement age-appropriate activities that promote cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development.
- Support children’s individual needs, including those with disabilities or special education requirements.
- Foster positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues through clear and compassionate communication.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment that encourages curiosity and independence.
- Use computer skills to document daily activities, progress reports, and incident logs accurately.
- Collaborate with team members to develop tailored educational plans and adapt teaching strategies as needed.
- Manage time effectively to ensure all daily routines and activities are completed smoothly.
- Assist children with daily routines and activities in a safe, respectful, and supportive manner.
Qualifications & Skills
- Valid ECE (Early Childhood Educator) certificate required.
- Valid First Aid and CPR Certificate required.
- Proficiency in English; knowledge of French is a strong asset for bilingual communication.
- Prior experience working with children in early childhood settings or classroom environments.
- Knowledge of childcare best practices and early childhood education principles.
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities or in special education settings is highly desirable.
- Strong communication skills to engage effectively with children, parents, and team members.
- Excellent organizational skills to manage classroom activities and documentation efficiently.
- Computer operation skills for record keeping and lesson planning software.
- Demonstrated leadership qualities with the ability to guide young learners confidently.
- Strong writing skills for preparing reports, lesson plans, and communication notes.
- Effective time management skills to balance multiple responsibilities seamlessly.
- Ability to remain active and engaged throughout the workday, including standing, walking, bending, and participating in activities with young children.
- Ability to safely assist children with age-appropriate daily routines and activities.
- Ability to perform the physical duties of the position safely and effectively.
