The CYW, as a member of the Child Adolescent Unit inpatient multidisciplinary team, promotes a safe and therapeutic environment where patients are treated according to their individual needs. The CYW works with the patient, family and multidisciplinary team to promote patient mental and physical wellness. S/he, as a member of the health care team, and has a significant role in promoting health, preventing illness, and helping clients attain and maintain the highest level of health possible.

Child and Youth Worker Diploma or equivalent.
Demonstrated expertise in mental health service to children/adolescents and their families.
Three years relevant work experience.
Hospital or residential treatment setting experience including shift work
Proven excellent interpersonal relationships.
Proven excellent communication skills (verbal, non-verbal and written).
Demonstrated evidence of commitment to continuing education.
Demonstrated knowledge of CYC scope of practice.
Proven ability to work effectively with a multidisciplinary team.
Current BCLS.
Valid CPI course or commitment to receive same within 3 months of hire.
Demonstrated ability to maintain a good attendance record and meet the performance standards of the Health Centre
