SD No. 57 Prince George-Inclusive Education Department-is seeking a 0.3 Limited Duration Contract Speech Language Pathologist.
POSITION:
The Speech and Language Pathologist functions as part of a multidisciplinary team whose major role is to enhance the educational and social functioning of all students in the school district.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conducts assessments of students who exhibit communication difficulties for the purpose of developing intervention strategies.
- Designs, implements, monitors and evaluates intervention measures directly and in consultation with school and district staff.
- Provides counseling to students and parents as appropriate.
- Provides written reports on all formal casework.
- Consults with teachers, principals, and administrators in the development of policy and programs at the school and district level.
- Provides formal in-service sessions for teachers, parents and other professional for the purpose of developing and upgrading their knowledge and skills.
- Conducts and disseminates research relevant to the needs of students in the school district.
- Determines the need for making referrals to other school district professionals and outside agencies.
- Daily travel within the school district.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master’s degree or equivalent from a recognized school of speech and language pathology.
- Eligible for membership in the Canadian and BC Associations of Speech Language Pathologists and Audiologists.

School District No.57 resides on the unceded ancestral lands of the Lheidli T’enneh First Nations, McLeod Lake Indian Band and the Simpcw First Nations.
Geographically we expand from Mackenzie, through Prince George, to McBride and Valemount. We serve 41 schools: 32 Elementary schools, 8 Secondary schools and 1 District Learning Support center for alternative and alternate learning opportunities.
