About the Role:
ThinkFuel is looking for a Growth Marketing Strategist to own a portfolio of B2B client accounts across the US and Canada. This person becomes the strategic expert and trusted advisor for their clients, from understanding their business goals to making sure every initiative is grounded in real strategy and shows up in measurable results.
Clients don't need someone who just executes what they ask for. They need someone who understands their business well enough to push back when it matters, and who connects everything back to pipeline and revenue. That's the job.
What You'll Do:
1. Client Portfolio and Strategy
●Serve as account lead on roughly 10-15 accounts at a time, primarily B2B. Drive scope, manage timelines and budget, and pull in internal resources as needed to deliver.
● Own client success as the strategic expert and trusted advisor. When a client pushes back, cuts scope, or checks out, the job is to consult, educate, and re-align. Not to shrug and defer.
●Develop and implement a digital marketing strategy directly with each client, grounded in a real understanding of their business, industry, and goals.
●Own marketing strategy across the full funnel, from top-of-funnel acquisition through conversion, with a focus on how the work turns into pipeline.
●Own your client relationships and outcomes. Not just the deliverables, but also the results they produce.
●Work directly with the client to define their KPIs, not just report against ones set by someone else. If the client doesn't have clear goals yet, that's this role's job to establish before any strategy gets built.
●Build real relationships with clients. Get curious about their business. Solve their problems, both as a strategist and, when it makes sense, by expanding scope for more support.
2. Reporting and Client Communication
● Deliver monthly performance reporting with real analysis: what happened, why, and what to do next to move toward the client's KPIs.
● Own client analytics infrastructure. That means the dashboards, reporting setup, and attribution models that make the reports credible, not just the reports themselves.
● Lead client presentations and check-ins.
● Anticipate problems before the client raises them, and come with a solution, not just a heads-up.
3. Content and Campaign Direction
● Produce content briefs, strategy guidance, ad copy direction, and testing plans as needed.
● Direct internal team members on content strategy: topics, keywords, campaign goals, target audiences. Guiding the work, not executing.
4. Client-Side Alignment and Commercial Management
●Own client-side sales and marketing alignment. Define funnel stages, set SLAs between client marketing and sales teams, clarify lead ownership, and set realistic pipeline expectations. This is client-facing work.
●Own commercial relationship management within the portfolio: scope conversations and churn risk mitigation when the cause is value perception, not strategic misalignment.
● Conduct, and own, regular client meetings to align on strategy, goals, priorities, and overall business objectives.
5. Pre-Sales
● Support the sales team on pre-sales calls to help scope client requirements.
● Spot upsell and growth opportunities within owned accounts and pass them to sales with context.
● Contribute to how ThinkFuel packages and sells its marketing services. This role sits closest to where strategy succeeds or fails, and that earns a say in how services get built.
Authority and Escalation
Resolve most client relationship challenges independently. Escalate only when a situation is outside defined authority.
1. Resolve Independently
● Scope pushback or requests to cut deliverables
● Client dissatisfaction or disengagement addressable through re-alignment
● Deliverable mix changes that don't affect contract value
● Performance concerns addressable through strategic redirection
2. Escalate
● Requests to reduce contract value or MRR
● Churn risk after re-alignment hasn't worked
● Any pricing decision outside established rates
● Contract changes affecting margin or commercial terms
Key Preformance Indicators:
1. Client Portfolio Health
● Retention rate held or improved quarter over quarter
● Churn tracked with documented root cause
● NPS and satisfaction scores reviewed quarterly
2. Billable Utilization
● Billable hours tracked monthly against a steady-state target
3. Analytics and Reporting Infrastructure
● Reporting infrastructure in place and credible for every active account
● Monthly reports on time, with forward-looking recommendations
● Attribution models and dashboards current and functional across the portfolio
Note:
HubSpot experience is very valuable. Candidates should feel comfortable knowing HubSpot or learning the CRM for reporting, attrition, automation, and campaign management tools for strategic decision-making.
Success in this role is measured by the health of client relationships, retention, and the ability to connect marketing outcomes to measurable business outcomes, including lead generation, pipeline contribution, and revenue impact.
What You'll Bring:
● Track record of success in account management or marketing strategy
● Strong commitment to customer service and quality
● Excellent verbal and written communication
● Experience in a fast-paced agency environment, managing multiple clients at once
● 3+ years of relevant experience
● Real drive to automate the manual parts of the job with AI. Not someone who occasionally prompts a chatbot, someone who builds a workflow, ships it, and hands off the busywork so they can spend that time on strategy
● Solid grasp of inbound marketing strategy
● Working knowledge of SEO, AEO, PPC, social, and marketing automation
● Experience with tools like HubSpot, WordPress, Google Analytics, SEMrush, or Databox
● Comfortable having a tough conversation with a client, kindly, when it's needed
Who this role is not for:
This role is not fit for someone who prefers to stay in campaign execution, waits for clients to tell them what to do, or is uncomfortable with challenging assumptions. Success in this role comes from leading strategic conversations, building stakeholders trust, and connecting marketing activity to business outcomes.
Other:
We are committed to an inclusive, barrier-free work environment and recruitment and selection processes. Accommodations are available upon request for candidates taking part in all aspects of the recruitment process.
We thank all applicants for considering a career with us; however, only those selected for an interview will be contacted.
