Job Summary:
As a BioPed Canadian Certified Pedorthist, you will be responsible for all aspects of patient care management, including, but not limited to - assessment, design, manufacture, fit and modification of foot appliances. In addition, Pedorthists will measure for, dispense and adjust; lower leg bracing, compression hose and footwear for the purposes of alleviating painful or debilitating conditions and providing assistance for abnormalities or limited actions of the lower limb. *** New Voxel 3D Printing on-site ***
Key Responsibilities:
- Works successfully in a clinical retail team environment assessing, educating and supplying patients with prescribed care related to the lower limb
- Ensures highest standards of patient care provided to all patients, including prescribed follow-up with physicians
- Provides assessment through observation of surface anatomy and palpation of the limb, gait analyses, range-of-motion testing, footwear analysis and review of history, work and lifestyle activities potentially complicated health factors
- Casts using a variety of three dimensional techniques and fabricates orthoses in our on-site laboratories
- Oversees work of Pedorthic Technicians as required
- Fits and adjusts orthoses, off-the-shelf footwear, lower leg bracing and compression hosiery
- Casts and measures for custom footwear and works with external specialists in delivering custom footwear for patients
- Measures for custom lower leg braces and works with external specialists in delivering custom footwear for patients
- Ensures that proper patient management is consistent with established Standards of Practice and Code of Ethics as prescribed by the Pedorthic Association of Canada and the College of Pedorthics and Canada
- Ensures patient satisfaction with BioPed products and services
- Works effectively with the Patient Coordinator to ensure smooth day-to-day operation of the clinic

Experience and Skill Requirements:
- Canadian Certified Pedorthist Certification
- Effective communication skills for accurate, concise and organized oral and written presentation and reports to patient and staff
- Good interpersonal skills and ability to build professional relationships with physicians, therapists and patients.
- Ability to work effectively as a team member
- Effective organizational, time management, and planning skills
Compensation will be based on experience.
