Overview
Oceanview Fisheries is a seafood wholesaler specializing in the purchase and sale of groundfish, lobster and bait. We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Truck Driver to join our logistics team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting goods safely and efficiently to various locations in the Maritimes and Boston, MA, while adhering to all traffic regulations and safety protocols. This role requires a strong commitment to maintaining the integrity of freight during transit and ensuring timely deliveries.
Responsibilities
- Operate heavy trucks to transport freight over long distances, including trips to the US, ensuring safe and timely delivery.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance with regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including logs of driving hours and vehicle maintenance.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays.
- Load and unload cargo using forklifts or other heavy equipment as necessary.
- Follow all safety protocols and regulations while on the road and at loading/unloading sites.
Requirements
- Valid Class 1 Licence and Air Brake Licence required.
- Valid Passport.
- Proven experience in freight transportation or commercial driving.
- Experience operating forklifts is preferred.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills for effective interaction with clients, dispatchers, and team members.

Pay: $20.00-$30.00 per hour
