Position:
Exploration Staffing Solutions Ltd. is seeking Geological Surveyors to join our team for work on a mineral exploration project located in Postville, NL. The position is field-based and involves working on active diamond-drill mineral exploration programs in a remote location, completing surface and downhole surveying activities.
Job Description:
The primary duties of this position will include:
- Commuting to drill sites via helicopter, charter plane, or off-road vehicle
- Using GPS to survey new drill pads, drill holes, and completed drill collars
- Completing rig inspections to ensure Health, Safety & Environmental (HS&E) protocols are being followed
- Inspecting vacated drill pads and assisting with pad clean-up when required
- Lining up drill holes using gyro-based rig alignment tools such as an Azi-aligner
- Shutting down drill holes as required
- Providing geological support as needed
- Other duties may be assigned depending on project requirements and field conditions
Qualifications:
- Team player: must work well with diverse groups of people for extended periods of time
- Able to work independently when required
- Positive and proactive attitude toward environmental responsibility, health and safety, and respectful workplace practices
- Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy and consistency
- Experience with GPS and/or surveying tools considered an asset
- Comfortable working in remote and dynamic field environments
- Able to travel to site via helicopter and work in rugged terrain
- Physically capable of working outdoors in varying weather conditions for extended periods
- Valid unrestricted driver’s license preferred but not required
- Open to candidates from all provinces
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Bachelor's degree, diploma, or enrollment in Surveying, Geology, Earth Sciences, or a related field (asset)
- Previous experience with downhole/borehole surveying, surface surveying geology, or exploration field work (asset)
- Experience working in a geological exploration setting and familiarity with the diamond drilling process (major asset)
- Familiarity with gyro-based tools or drill alignment systems (asset)
- Experience working on remote exploration drill programs (asset)
- Experience working and living in a remote camp setting
- Strong communication skills and ability to coordinate with drill and geology teams
Compensation:
$375–$425/day
