Job Summary
This is a comprehensive, free construction training program designed to equip participants with essential skills for a successful career in the construction industry. The program offers hands-on experience and instruction across various trades, preparing individuals for entry-level roles or advanced specialization. Participants will gain practical knowledge in multiple areas of construction, including blueprint reading, tool usage, and safety protocols, to enhance their employability and technical expertise.
Duties
- Participate actively in classroom instruction covering construction fundamentals and trade-specific techniques
- Engage in hands-on training with hand tools, power tools, and heavy equipment operation
- Learn and practice blueprint reading, schematics interpretation, and construction estimating
- Gain experience in carpentry, concrete forming, concrete finishing, masonry, and tile laying
- Assist with cabinet installation, flooring installation, electrical wiring, plumbing, and restoration projects
- Develop skills in construction painting and caulking to ensure quality finishes
- Observe safety procedures and proper use of personal protective equipment during all activities
- Collaborate with instructors and fellow trainees on real-world projects to apply learned skills
Qualifications
- Strong interest in pursuing a career in construction or related trades
- Basic understanding of construction concepts is a plus but not required; enthusiasm to learn is essential
- Ability to follow instructions carefully and work safely in a team environment
- Good physical condition with the ability to lift heavy materials and operate manual tools
- Willingness to participate actively in both classroom learning and practical exercises
- No prior experience necessary; all training is provided as part of the program
