Job Summary

Monitors and coordinates all activities of the Shipping/Receiving Department by verifying and keeping records on incoming and outgoing shipments; preparing items for shipment: Study shipping/receiving notices, bills of lading, invoices, orders, and other records. Maintain inventory counts, organize stock room and replenish supplies. Responsible for gate operation and advising various departments of shipments as required.

Duties and Responsibilities

Oversee loading and unloading of goods from trucks or other conveyances
Inspect and verify incoming goods against invoices or other documents, record shortages and reject damaged goods
Unpack, code and route goods to appropriate storage areas
Maintain internal, manual or computerized record-keeping systems
May operate forklift, hand truck or other equipment to load, unload, transport and store goods.
Maintain the work area and equipment in clean and orderly condition.
Contribute and adhere to safety and quality.
Communicate status of operation in a timely manner to management including any safety and/or process problems.
Inspect material handling equipment for defects and notify Maintenance personnel of any discrepancies or defects.
Ensure movement of shipments from shipping and receiving platform to storage and work areas.
Assemble containers and crates, record contents manually or by computer, pack goods to be shipped and affix identifying information and shipping instructions
Monitor inventory levels as materials, equipment and stock are issued, transferred within an establishment using manual or computerized inventory systems
Compile inventory reports, recording the quantity, type and value of materials, equipment and stock on hand, using manual or computerized inventory systems
Prepare requisition orders to replenish materials, equipment and stock
Maintain stock rotation and dispose of and account for outdated stock (FIFO)
Responsible for Gate Operation for shipping/receiving activities
Ability to act with tact, good judgment, and discretion; sensitivity to confidential matters is required.

Other duties as assigned by Management.
Core Competencies

Knowledge of physical security requirements for Controlled Substances related legislations, regulations and guidelines in Canada.
Knowledge and compliance with GPP, GMP and GLP.
General understanding about the operational controls and inventory movement
Strong organization skills and attention to detail.

High School Diploma
At least 2 years of shipping experience preferred
Must be able to follow detailed instructions
Prioritize, work well under time pressure, and focus on work in midst of noise
Maintain a good, cooperative and respectful attitude
Comply with safety laws and regulations
Must have accountability, proactive behavior, strong attention to detail. Follow ZENABIS’s policies and contribute towards the goal of achieving shipping targets within set timelines
Works well independently and in a team environment
Good communication and documentation skills
Salary: Salaried Position

Security Clearance : Security Clearance may be requested for this position

Working Hours: Monday – Friday, 8 am – 5 pm. This position will require after hours or extended hours based on activity.

Physical Requirements: Physical aptitude to perform tasks required for the proper management of Security Operations.
