Barrie Family Foot and Orthotic Clinic is looking for a friendly, organized and dependable Receptionist / Clinical Assistant to join our growing team.

Experience with marketing is considered an asset.
Anticipated start date: First or second week of September 2026
Schedule: Monday to Friday, alternating morning and afternoon shifts
Pay: $20-$22 per hour, depending on experience
Location: 190 Cundles Rd. E #102 Barrie, Ontario
About the Role
This position combines front-office reception and clinical support. You will be an important part of creating a welcoming, professional experience for our patients while assisting the Chiropodists and the rest of the clinic team with daily operations.
Responsibilities
- Provide a friendly, professional and welcoming experience for patients
- Perform front-desk reception duties, including scheduling and confirming appointments
- Answer and make telephone calls from patients, healthcare professionals and other contacts
- Respond to patient enquiries and assist with appointment requests
- Use computer and office systems, including Jane EMR, TELUS Health direct billing and Google Chrome
- Prepare invoices, process payments and handle cash and point-of-sale transactions
- Balance daily payment and transaction totals
- Assist with direct billing and other administrative tasks
- Follow direction from the Chiropodists and other team members
- Assist with general office administration and, when required, basic marketing activities
- Assist with instrument cleaning and sterilization according to clinic procedures
- Complete routine opening and closing duties
- Maintain a clean, organized and well-stocked reception and clinical environment
- Assist patients in accessing the treatment room and preparing for their appointment, including helping with footwear when required
- Provide appropriate assistance to patients with varying ages, mobility levels and abilities
- Communicate with the Chiropodists and team members regarding patient needs and office matters
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Excellent verbal and interpersonal communication skills
- Friendly, professional and helpful approach to patient care
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities in a busy clinic environment
- Basic computer proficiency and the ability to learn new software quickly
- Ability to handle payments and basic administrative tasks accurately
- Reliable, punctual and dependable
- Comfortable working independently while also being a positive team member
- Ability to follow instructions and communicate updates to the Chiropodists and team
- Comfortable assisting patients with mobility and preparing for their appointments
- Willingness to perform routine cleaning, stocking and clinic-maintenance duties
Assets
The following experience is an asset:
- Healthcare or private-practice experience
- Experience with Jane EMR
- Experience with TELUS Health/direct billing
- Basic accounting or bookkeeping experience
- Previous medical or clinic reception experience
Full training will be provided to the successful candidate.
