Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner
Independent Contractor | 2–3 Days/Week | Edmonton, AB
Root & Rise Integrative Health Collective is looking for an experienced and passionate Nurse Practitioner with an interest and expertise in women’s health to join our multidisciplinary clinic on Whyte Avenue.
We’re building a space where women can access thoughtful, evidence-informed healthcare without feeling rushed, dismissed, or bounced between providers. We’re looking for an NP who shares that philosophy and is excited about the opportunity to develop and grow their own women’s health practice within an established integrative clinic.
The Opportunity
This is an independent contractor position, ideally 2–3 days per week, with flexibility around scheduling and practice development.
There is significant opportunity to build a dedicated women’s health service within Root & Rise, with potential areas of practice including:
- Menstrual concerns, including heavy, painful or irregular periods
- Perimenopause and menopause assessment and management
- Contraceptive counselling, prescribing and management
- Sexual and reproductive health
- Fertility and preconception care
- PCOS assessment and management
- Vaginal and vulvar health concerns
- Recurrent UTI assessment and management
- STI screening and treatment
- Cervical cancer screening
- Pelvic health concerns
- Hormonal concerns
- Preventative health and wellness
- Appropriate laboratory and diagnostic investigation
- Medication prescribing and management
- Referrals and coordination of care when required
The exact scope of services can be developed around the successful NP’s education, experience, competence and clinical interests.
Who We’re Looking For
You are a Nurse Practitioner who:
- Holds active registration and an NP practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta
- Has experience, additional education or a strong clinical background in women’s, reproductive, sexual or gynecologic health
- Is comfortable practising autonomously within NP scope and individual competence
- Provides evidence-informed, trauma-informed and patient-centred care
- Values collaboration with other healthcare disciplines
- Has excellent communication and patient education skills
- Is organized and comfortable managing appropriate investigation, results follow-up and continuity of care
- Is interested in building a sustainable clinical practice and patient base
- Brings warmth, professionalism and genuine respect for patients to their practice
Experience in gynecology, primary care, sexual health, menopause care, contraception or reproductive medicine would be considered a strong asset.
