Loader Operator, Snow Maintenance
Green Works Contracting is a multi-service and season landscaping and maintenance company in the nation’s capital focused on providing quality service. We are currently seeking Loader Operators for the upcoming 2024-25 Winter season!
*** SEEKING ON-CALL & SPARE OPERATORS. ***
- This is a seasonal position from approximately November 1, 2024 until April 15, 2025. (Summer work available after the winter season.)
- Shifts are on an on-call basis and hours vary depending on the weather (8-16 hour shifts).
- You MUST be available 24/7, including weekends and holidays, and be able to respond to dispatch on short notice.
- $25.00 - $35.00/hr based on experience, reliability, safety, and position offered.
- Must be available 24/7 from November 2024 to April 2025.
- Must have a cell phone with minutes and data.
- Must have reliable transportation to get to our shop.
- Must hold a valid G Class drivers licence and clean abstract.
- Must have Loader experience (John Deere 344K, 344L or CAT 926, 914) or similar.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience.
- Ability to work in cold and potentially hazardous weather conditions.
- Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy loads.
- Ability to read and interpret work orders and instructions
- Can work independently and as a team.
- Clearing snow from driveways, and parking lots loader.
- remove.load excess snow/piles into tri-axle.
- Plan routes and follow schedules to ensure timely deliveries.
- Safely operating snow removal equipment and following all safety guidelines.
- Ensuring that all areas are properly cleared and free of snow and ice.
- Communicating with supervisors or team members to coordinate snow removal efforts.
- Maintaining equipment and reporting any maintenance or repair needs.
- Communicate with dispatchers, customers, and other drivers as needed
- 8-16 hrs per shift.
- You can expect large commercial and/or municipal sites for winter plowing operations.
- Please note that this position is seasonal and dependent on weather conditions.
