What You’ll Do
This is a dynamic, all-around business role where you’ll be responsible for keeping the administrative and financial side of the company running efficiently.
Daily & Weekly Responsibilities
- Collect and manage company mail and correspondence
- Monitor and respond to company emails and inquiries
- Process invoices, payables, and receivables
- Prepare and process payroll
- Maintain organized records and filing systems
Accounting & Financial Tasks
- Track expenses and reconcile accounts
- Prepare and submit GST and PST filings
- Coordinate with external accountants for year-end reporting
- Manage billing, collections, and vendor payments
Operations & Asset Tracking
- Track gravel pit and quarry leases and renewal timelines
- Maintain equipment and fleet records (insurance, registration, maintenance)
- Coordinate insurance coverage and payments for company assets
- Maintain subcontractor documentation (insurance, WCB, agreements)
Safety & Compliance
- Assist with COR audit preparation and documentation
- Track safety training and compliance records
- Support company health & safety program administration
Additional Responsibilities
- Support bid and tender submissions
- Assist with project documentation and reporting
- Coordinate travel/logistics for field operations
- Identify and improve internal processes
What We’re Looking For
- Diploma or Degree in Business, Accounting, or a related field
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work independently and take initiative
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Valid driver’s license and ability to commute to Arborg, MB 3 days/week
Asset (but not required):
- Experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage)
- Co-op or internship experience in administration or accounting
