Position Summary
The Information Systems (IS) Support Specialist, reporting to the Manager of Information Systems, is tasked with providing end-user support for various business applications. Collaborating with a team of support specialists, the IS Support Specialist works with application vendors to troubleshoot technical issues, configure systems for organizational changes, and support standardized business processes.
This role is actively involved in application updates and may assist the project team in implementing new functionalities. Additionally, the IS Support Specialist contributes to maintaining an organized knowledge-sharing environment by participating in cross-training opportunities within the support team. This job description encapsulates the essence of the role and its significance in ensuring the smooth operation of information systems within the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Support
- Providing end-user support by troubleshooting and resolving issues, maintaining, and monitoring user security and access permissions, and reviewing and responding to queries.
- Delivering timely solutions to resolve problems and minimize downtime.
- Ensuring efficient IT system functionality by monitoring performance and making necessary adjustments.
- Completing application configurations related to change requests, property onboardings, and user offboarding/onboarding.
- Assisting with application updates by reviewing changes and assessing impacts, collaborating with department subject matter experts, conducting quality assurance (QA) testing, and supporting the business through user acceptance testing (UAT).
- Supporting the development team by troubleshooting system integrations, conducting quality assurance, and serving as a bridge between the business and developers for programming requests.
- Supporting the development and upkeep of reports and dashboards to monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and analyze trends.
- Tracking and documenting updates from application vendors and assessing enhancements and changes in each update.
- Working with the support team and application vendors to offer the business recommendations for increased automation and continuous improvement.
- Creating standard documentation required for approval of system configuration changes and change requests.
- Helping to develop and maintain application administration procedure documentation, training materials, and frequently asked questions (FAQs).
Project Delivery Support
- Supporting the Project Team with system configurations, Conference Room Pilot (CRP) testing, administration team training, and documentation.
- Helping the Project Team implement application security and user permissions for new functionalities.
- Contributing feedback and expertise to assist the business and consultants in defining future state business processes.
Required Knowledge & Skills
- Possession of a business degree or enrollment in relevant post-education certification, along with experience in supporting enterprise financial systems (ERP, Accounting, CRM applications).
- Exceptional problem-solving skills: Innovative in identifying issues and delivering solutions.
- Analytical mindset with strong attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with active listening abilities.
- Strong aptitude for quickly learning and adapting to new software systems.
- Positive attitude and a commitment to providing superior support and collaboration with team members, company associates, and external partners.
- Ability to multitask, stay organized, and remain flexible.
- Preferred but not essential: Experience with Yardi Voyager, MSD365 Finance and Operations, and/or ServiceNow.
- Preferred but not essential: experience with SQL querying.
- Preferred but not essential: Experience in the Real Estate or Property Management industry.
