Position Title: Part-Time Community Support Worker - 20 hours a week
Reports to: Service Coordinator

Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Community Support Worker to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential assistance to an individual within their own home and community. Your primary focus will be on enhancing the quality of life for a man with diverse abilities by fostering independence, dignity, and meaningful connections.
The ideal candidate will:
- Be patient, calm, and confident when supporting someone who may become reactive or overwhelmed.
- Be comfortable following structured routines and support plans.
- Demonstrate strong boundary‑setting skills and the ability to remain steady during challenging moments.
- Bring a positive, encouraging attitude that helps the individual feel safe, understood, and motivated.
- Support social engagement, healthy routines, and meaningful community participation.

Employment Type: Part-Time
Schedule: 20 hours a week: monday to Friday 9am to 1pm. This is a set schedule, however it may be adjusted as needed to best support the individual.
Work Environment: The Support Worker will support the individual with, maintaining relationships, attending appointments, completing personal chores, personal care and preparing meals.
Vehicle Use: The Community Support Worker will use their personal vehicle to transport the person served and will be reimbursed $0.67/km for using their personal vehicle.

Job Requirements:
- Valid Driver's License and safe driving history.
- Experience working with an individual with challenging behaviours
- Previous experience supporting individuals with diverse abilities in a home care settings is preferred.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with supported individuals and their families.
- Valid First Aid Certificate *Can be obtained during training period*
- Criminal Record Clearance under the Vulnerable Sector Act (processed by the Criminal Record Review Program once an offer of employment is accepted )
- Medical clearance form completed by physician.
- TB test (to be completed within probationary period).
