Reporting to the Associate Manager, Quality Assurance, you will be responsible for:
Performing reviews of all non-registered wealth applications, UL insurance applications, and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) related documents to ensure legislative and business requirements have been collected;
Working closely with operations teams, IC Compliance, and Corporate Compliance as required;
Detailed and accurate tracking of the outcome of all reviews in the AML tracking tool (web based);
Coordinating efforts and collecting audit information to support the work of internal departments (e.g. Internal Audit, Corporate Compliance) as well as external regulators (e.g. FINTRAC, MRQ, etc.);
Reaching out to our Wealth and Client Service field partners (advisors, brokers, etc.) and New Business staff to obtain missing AML requirements;
Responding to central mailbox inquiries accurately and in a timely manner (field partner and operations questions);
Making recommendations on policy, procedure and training based on audit results;
Analyzing trends and providing information that will be used in reports to senior management.
Qualifications and Competencies:
Bilingualism (English & French), with a focus on reading and writing skills;
Attention to detail – must have high capability to mentally and visually spot discrepancies between multiple sources of information, including procedure guides. Requires a high degree of concentration;
Excellent communication skills – verbal and written;
Problem solving and analytical skills. Must be able to take a situation and apply logic and precedent to reach a conclusion;
Ability to work well within a group but also independently with little supervision;
Comfort working with all Microsoft products (Access, Excel, Word, etc.);
Familiarity with AML legislation would be considered an asset;
Business knowledge – familiarity with wealth and insurance roles, end-to-end processes, and systems (OnBase, Aura, Corporate Client, etc.) would be considered an asset.
