As a Registered Massage Therapist in our clinic, you will be an integral part of a collaborative, inter-disciplinary team focused on delivering seamless services and programs to our clients and patients. - Conduct assessments of patients' physical conditions, needs and preferences to customize massage sessions
- Perform various massage techniques, including Swedish, deep tissue, myofascial release, active release and cranial sacral therapy
- Collaborate with physiotherapy, osteopathy, family physicians, nurse practitioners and other healthcare professionals to ensure an integrated approach to patient care
- Monitor patient progress, adjust treatment plans accordingly
- Maintain accurate records and document treatment in patients chart according to HHC policies and the clinical documentation standards of the CMTO
- Perform massage therapy on a variety of Homewood patients across all program areas, with dedicated hours in the Integrated Pain Service
- Perform massage therapy on Homewood clinical staff working onsite
- Contribute to a positive and supportive clinic environment, promoting a culture of compassion, understanding and empathy for patients living with mental health challenges and chronic pain
What we’re looking for:
- Applicants must be registered and a member in good standing with the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario (CMTO)
- New graduates are welcome
- Experience treating patients MSK injuries and chronic pain an asset
- Interest in the intersection between massage therapy and mental health
- Empathy, compassion and a patient-centric approach to care, emphasizing the importance of the mind-body connection in the treatment of pain
- Proven organizational skills and the ability to manage a diverse caseload efficiently
- Registered provider with Veteran’s Affairs and Green Shield and asset
- Ability to direct bill for services through TELUS eCalims, Medavie Blue Cross and providerConnect
