Job Title: Lead Marine Technician

Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Full Time (40hr/week) Marine Technician to join our team for the Fall Season or September and October with a successful candidate having the option to return end of March. The ideal candidate will have a passion for freshwater boats and a strong background in marine mechanics. We are also open to an experienced automotive technician who is wanting to transition into the marine industry. You will be responsible for performing inspections, repairs, and routine maintenance on a variety of boats, ensuring they are in top condition for our customers to enjoy.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough inspections of boats to identify and diagnose mechanical and electrical issues.
- Perform repairs and maintenance on engines, ballast systems and electrical components.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues to ensure boats are safe and operational.
- Communicate with clients from time to time to provide updates and answer questions.
- Follow quality system procedures to meet service standards and time commitments.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Marine Technician or Automotive Technician.
- Post Secondary Education in Marine Technical training or Automotive or Heavy-Duty Red Seal.
- Strong knowledge of marine engines, electrical systems, and boat maintenance.
- Well-versed in Mercury and Volvo stern drive inspections and repairs.
- Competent computer skills for diagnostics and troubleshooting.
- Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Relevant certifications or qualifications in marine mechanics or automotive mechanics are a plus.

Our shop is located at 9220 Mara Heights Road, Swansea Point, BC
just 5km south of Sicamous, and overlooking Mara Lake.
