Role: 2D Game Artist - Gacha-Style Mobile Games

About Us: Tier 9 Game Studios is an innovative mobile games company focused on creating industry-changing gacha games. Our current game, Auto Battles Online, has over a million users and counting. We're on the lookout for passionate and talented 2D Game Artists to join our creative team and help bring the worlds we create to life!
Role Overview: As a 2D Game Artist at Tier 9 Game Studios, you will play a key role in the design and creation process of characters, environments, props, and assets that are critical to the visual appeal and identity of our ongoing and in-development projects.
Your skills, judgment, and creative insight will drive the aesthetic direction of our games, ensuring they stand out in a competitive market and resonate deeply with our player community.
We're also working on a brand new game, a 2D mobile mmorpg, for which you will be a core content artist!
Responsibilities:
- Conceptualize, design, and create characters, environments, props, and UI assets that align with the game's themes, mechanics, and visual goals.
- Generate high-quality art assets for promotional materials, marketing campaigns, and in-game events to build community excitement.
- Collaborate closely with game designers and other artists to deliver cohesive and visually stunning game content.
- Contribute to the development of the game's art style, establish style guides, and maintain consistency throughout all visual elements.
- Participate in brainstorming sessions, art reviews, and contribute to the creative direction of the games.
- Work within technical and timeline constraints to optimize art assets for implementation in Unity.
Qualifications:
- A strong portfolio of 2D background paintings, character designs, and prop art. We don’t require an art degree or diploma if you can demonstrate proven talent as an artist!
- Proficiency in digital art software such as Adobe Photoshop, Clip Studio Paint, or equivalent.
- Understanding and keen sensibility regarding RPG and gacha-style mobile game mechanics and their unique visual requirements.
- Strong grasp of color theory, composition, anatomy, and perspective, as well as layout design.
- Responsibility and communication skills to collaborate effectively in a team environment.
- Strong organizational skills with an eye for detail and quality.
- Proactive and independently motivated.
- Positive attitude and passion for creating great mobile games!
Nice to Haves:
- Skills in 2D animation and/or visual effects (VFX).
- Strong understanding of animation principles.
- Familiarity with Unity.
- Proficiency in other tools such as (but not limited to) Adobe Suite (After Effects, Illustrator, Premiere) and animation software (Spine, Live2D).
- Experience working on gaming projects with a focus on mobile games.
