This position reports to the Transformation - Mortgage Insurance team in our Client Solutions sector. In this sector, our partners view CMHC as the catalyst for solving housing affordability challenges.
About the role
We’re constantly evolving to build an inclusive housing system through research, design, innovation, and partnerships. This role examines the company’s most critical business processes in an effort to reduce process complexity and variability, improve interdependencies with other processes, and generate increased capacity for the Corporation’s strategic objectives. Your experience with process design and improvement will help us make housing affordable for everyone in Canada.
In this role, you will work collaboratively and cross-functionally to design new or re-engineer existing business processes. By leading new process design, you will ensure processes are efficient, improve the quality and consistency of our client experience, and achieve their intended results. You will also examine the company's most critical business processes to reduce process complexity and variability, improve interdependencies with other processes, and generate increased capacity for the Corporation’s strategic objectives. As a Specialist, Business Process, you contribute directly to building the continuous process improvement capability for the organization.
What you will need
Minimum of five (5) years of related work experience.
Minimum of two (2) years of experience in process design
Lean Six Sigma Black Belt
Expertise in process design methodologies (e.g. DFSS, DMADV, DMADOV, IDDOV)
Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma process improvement methodologies.
Understanding of principles of organizational change management.
Demonstrated experience working on process design using a variety of techniques within and across all business units of a large organization.
Demonstrated experience communicating with senior management to influence management decision making and persuade others to take course of action.
Experience in robotic process automation technology (an asset)
What you will be doing
Designing new products, services and processes focused on client needs that ensure customer satisfaction.
Applying a consistent, structured and phased framework (e.g. DFSS, DMADV, DMADOV and/or IDDOV) in the design of end-to-end processes.
Building commitment to business process management and improvement through effective process design, change management and implementation.
Leading process design and improvement projects with broad corporate implications that may have cross-sector impacts, including defining goals and objectives, planning and measurement.
Working with business lines to identify, analyze, structure, prioritize, and capture significant process design (new) and redesign (existing) opportunities.
Identifying and seeking out opportunities to transform business processes through automation, advanced analytics, robotics, artificial intelligence, and many other digital capabilities.
Contributing to improve business performance as well as the client and employee experience.
Acting as a subject matter expert and process excellence coach by promoting best practices in business process measurement, analysis, redesign, change, and ongoing process management.
Developing and reporting on performance measures to ensure that process improvements are sustainable and achieve their intended results.
Fostering and sustaining quality relationships with senior leadership to enable the creation and/or strengthening of synergies between business lines.
