Job Description:
We are seeking a reliable and skilled Apprentice HET’s to join our team. In this role, you will be working under the supervision and instruction of the Journeyman HET’s and the Shop Lead Hand. Apprentices are responsible for completing repairs & regular maintenance with or without direct supervision. With progression through the apprenticeship program, the employee will begin to take on more difficult tasks and repairs with less supervision. For testing purposes, the Apprentice HET will operate the equipment to determine the required maintenance or repairs. This is a safety sensitive position.
Job Requirements:
- Registered Alberta HET apprentice
- Previous experience operating or repairing cranes is an asset
- Previous welding experience is an asset
- Overhead crane, Forklift or Telehandler certifications are an asset
- Class 5 license with a clean 5-year abstract (GDL removed) is an asset
Personal Characteristics:
- High safety awareness
- Strong diagnostic skills
- Organized, good communicator, self-motivated and a team player
- Effective time management skills and able to meet deadlines
- Must have own tools and reliable transportation
- Able to work under a truck or trailer for extended periods of time
- Able to lift 50lbs repeatedly
- Ensure the shop area is kept clean, tidy and free of hazards at all times.
- Must be willing to work outside or on site on occasion
