Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Medical Scribe to join our healthcare team. This role is essential in supporting physicians by accurately documenting patient encounters and ensuring seamless medical record management. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of medical terminology and experience working within a medical office setting. This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain valuable experience in healthcare documentation and electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
Duties
- Accurately transcribe physician-patient interactions into electronic medical records in real-time during patient visits
- Assist healthcare providers by documenting patient histories, physical exams, and treatment plans with precision
- Ensure all documentation complies with healthcare regulations and privacy standards
- Manage and update electronic medical records efficiently, maintaining confidentiality at all times
- Support administrative tasks related to patient documentation and record keeping as needed
- Collaborate with medical staff to ensure complete and accurate patient records for ongoing care
Qualifications
- Prior experience in a medical office or clinical setting is preferred
- Proficiency with OSACR electronic medical records (EMR) systems is highly desirable
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare documentation standards
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy
- Strong communication skills and the ability to follow instructions carefully
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional certification or training in medical transcription or related fields is a plus
