Job Title: Material Handler
Job Description
The Material Handler works primarily in a clean production environment, ensuring that materials and finished products move efficiently between wash, CNC production, assembly, staging, and storage areas. This role combines physical material handling with accurate digital tracking in Excel and warehouse management software to keep inventory and production flows up to date.
Responsibilities

Work mostly in the clean room and surrounding production areas to support daily manufacturing operations.

Receive products from the wash area after machining and move finished pallets and skids to the appropriate storage locations.

Place parts into designated racks and accurately update inventory and location details using Excel spreadsheets.

Use Epicor or similar warehouse management software to record and update production movements digitally, not only physically moving stock.

Operate reach trucks approximately 50% of the time to store boxes, skids, and materials safely and efficiently.

Move materials between the wash area, assembly, CNC production, and staging areas according to production needs.

Review the production schedule regularly to understand upcoming material requirements and priorities.

Communicate proactively with shippers to coordinate the movement and staging of materials for outgoing orders.

Coordinate with the afternoon shift supervisor to determine which materials need to be moved, staged, or left for the next shift.

Maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail when handling materials and updating digital records.

Follow all safety procedures while operating material handling equipment and working on the production floor.

Contribute to a clean, organized, and efficient work area within the manufacturing environment.
Essential Skills-
At least 2 years of experience operating reach trucks and counterbalance forklifts in a warehouse or manufacturing setting.

Valid external reach truck and counterbalance forklift license.

Experience using RF scanners for picking and material tracking.

Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members across shifts.

High attention to detail when handling materials and updating digital records.

Proficiency with Excel and strong overall computer skills, with the ability to learn new software and SKU systems quickly.

Experience with SAP or other warehouse management software; familiarity with Epicor is an asset.

Ability to lift and move items weighing 50 lbs or more on a regular basis.
Additional Skills & Qualifications-
Previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment is an asset.

Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks based on production schedules.

Strong sense of ownership and reliability in completing assigned tasks.

Work Environment
This position is based in a manufacturing environment that is well lit, clean, and organized, including work in a clean room area on the production floor. The role involves frequent movement between wash, CNC production, assembly, and staging areas, as well as time in racking and storage zones. You will regularly operate reach and counterbalance forklifts, use RF scanners, and work with computer systems including Excel and warehouse management software such as Epicor. The atmosphere is friendly and has a family feel, with coworkers who support one another in meeting production goals.
