Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and personable Front Desk Receptionist / Physiotherapist Assistant (PTA) to join our healthcare team. This dual role involves providing exceptional patient care, managing front desk operations, and assisting licensed physiotherapists in delivering effective treatment. The ideal candidate will be organized, compassionate, and possess a strong understanding of medical terminology and patient care procedures. Prior hospital or acute care experience is a plus, but a genuine commitment to helping patients is essential. Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly and professionally upon arrival, ensuring a positive first impression
- Manage front desk duties including scheduling appointments, answering phone calls, and handling patient inquiries
- Verify patient information and insurance details accurately in the electronic health records system
- Assist physiotherapists with patient care activities such as setting up treatment areas and preparing necessary equipment
- Educate patients on treatment plans, post-treatment instructions, and exercise routines as directed by therapists
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient interactions and treatment progress
- Ensure the cleanliness and organization of the reception area and treatment spaces
- Support administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and inventory management of medical supplies
- Adhere to all healthcare regulations and safety protocols to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a private care setting is preferred FOR AT-LEAST 1 year.
- Strong knowledge of EHC, WSIB,MVA, IFHP is an asset
- Aware of Walnut / Jane / Universal EMR is an asset
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients and team members
- Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Compassionate attitude with a focus on patient comfort and confidentiality
- Basic proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) systems is desirable
- Certification or training as a Physiotherapist Assistant (PTA) is advantageous but not required
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional healthcare certifications are a plus
