We have an opening for Financial Controller for Duz Cho Logging at our Mackenzie location.
Duz Cho Group of Companies encompass Duz Cho Logging, Duz Cho Construction, and Duz Cho Forest Products. We are proud to be a wholly-owned subsidiary of the McLeod Lake Indian Band.
Preference will be given to a team player with industry experience.
Duties of this position will be obvious to the right candidates: full-cycle accounting, staff supervision, and support.

- Bachelor of Commerce Degree in Accounting or Finance
- In addition, Final stages of your CPA designation or are currently designated and in good standing, with industry experience, OR an MBA with specialization in Accounting or Finance
- Requires full working knowledge of general office practices and procedures.
- AP/AR/Payroll Staff supervision.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and other Microsoft Office suites.
- Proficiency using Sage 300 ERP is a must.
1.1 Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures;
1.2 Oversee the operations of the finance department, including the evolving design of an organizational structure and computerized accounting systems adequate for achieving the company's goals and objectives;
1.3 Ensure the accuracy of the accounting of the business including payroll;
1.4 Ensures that the financial policy of the Duz Cho Group, including authorities, is followed;
1.5 Forecast cash flow positions, related borrowing needs, and available funds for operation, equipment purchase, and investment;
1.6 Ensure that invoicing is correct, accounts receivables are received within specified time limits or corrective action taken, and accounts payable are paid within acceptable industry standards;
1.7 Maintain banking, business, shareholder, intercompany and auditor relationships;
1.8 Assist in determining the company's proper capital structure;
1.9 Arrange for equity and debt financing;
1.10 Preparing reports and timely remittances to the government;
1.11 Co-ordination of Audit preparation; and,
1.12 Maintenance of company employee benefits plans and insurance.
2.1 Assist management in the formulation of its annual overall strategic direction;
2.2 Prepare the company's budget based on past performance and strategic plan; and,
2.3 Report monthly to management and quarterly basis to the Board of Directors on variances from the established budget, and the reasons for those variances;
3 Financial Analysis
3.1 Engage in ongoing cost reduction analysis in all areas of the company;
3.2 Interpret the company's financial results to management and recommend improvement activities;
3.3 Review company bottlenecks and recommend changes to improve the overall level of company throughput;
3.4 Participate in target costing activities to create services/products that meet predetermined price goals;
3.5 Assist in the determination of tenders in relation to services offered and competitor pricing;
3.6 Compile key business metrics and report on them to management;
3.7 Manage the capital budgeting process, based on constraint analysis and discounted cash flow analysis; and,
3.8 Create additional analyses and reports as requested by management.
4.1 Recruits, supervises and trains clerical staff;
4.2 Assigns and regulates clerical and secretarial functions;
4.3 Delegates responsibilities and allocates resources among the staff to ensure an efficient flow of work and co-ordinate work;
4.4 Evaluates, assesses and manages the performance of each employee and plays a crucial role in their promotion;
4.5 Provides a knowledgeable and welcoming reception service;
4.6 Ensure that confidentiality is maintained;
4.7 Maintain company records;
4.8 Safeguard assets and property of the office; and
5.1 Performs other duties as requested throughout the Duz Cho Group;
- Delivers company financial reports for shareholders at the Annual General Meeting and other shareholder meetings;
