Customer Service Centre Clerk A

As the Customer Service Centre Clerk you are responsible for Transit product which includes selling transit smart cards, loading various transit fare products on the card, and are accountable for the inventory and cash allocated to them. You will also provide transit information to the public and must have a good knowledge of routes, transit operations policies/procedures and passenger self-help technology tools such as Navigo, BusTxt etc.

As the Customer Service Centre Clerk A you will:
Respond to public inquiries both in person and over the telephone and direct telephone calls as required for departmental staff; assisting Customer Service and Handi Transit staff.
Sell Transit products (bus tickets/passes/smart cards/merchandise) and accept Handi-Transit payments and distribute Handit-Transit registration forms.
Take pictures as required and create Photo ID cards for Transit concession products (bus passes/smart cards) and student identification.
Replenish bus schedules and assist walk in customers with transit trip planning as required and respond to any inquiries.
Greet and assist Handi-Transit registrants coming in transit functional assessments.

Your education and qualifications include:
High School or equivalent combination of training and experience.
Demonstrated ability to keyboard 40 w.p.m. and working proficiency with basic word processing applications (Word) and spreadsheets (Excel).
Two years of office related experience, preferably with prior experience in a customer service setting and handling cash transactions.
Demonstrated ability to work with and balance cash, and product inventory.
Ability to work with minimum direct supervision and to initiate responsible action.

Conditions of employment:
Ability to lift and move boxes of schedules, weighing up to 30 lbs.
A Police Information Check satisfactory to the employer will be required from the applicant(s) or successful candidate(s), at their expense.
