Overview
We are seeking a friendly and detail-oriented Liquor Store Clerk to join our retail team. This role involves providing excellent customer service, managing sales transactions, and maintaining an organized store environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, be able to handle multiple tasks efficiently, and have a passion for retail sales. Experience with merchandising or POS systems are a plus. This position offers an engaging work environment where you can develop your sales and customer service skills while ensuring a positive shopping experience for our customers. Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and assist them in selecting products
- Operate POS systems accurately for sales transactions, including cash handling and credit card processing
- Maintain proper merchandising of products on shelves and displays
- Conduct product demos when appropriate to enhance customer engagement
- Upsell related products to increase sales opportunities
- Ensure compliance with legal age restrictions for alcohol purchases
- Keep the store clean, organized, and well-stocked throughout the shift
- Provide knowledgeable assistance regarding product options and store promotions
- Handle customer inquiries via phone or in person with professionalism and courtesy
- Manage inventory levels and report discrepancies or low stock items to management
Experience
- Previous retail sales experience is preferred, especially in a customer-facing environment
- Familiarity with POS systems, cash handling, and basic math skills are advantageous
- Strong communication skills, including phone etiquette and organizational abilities
- Multilingual or bilingual abilities (English required) are highly desirable to serve diverse customers effectively
- Experience in merchandising, product demos, technical sales, or upselling is a plus
- Ability to manage time efficiently in a fast-paced retail setting and maintain excellent customer service standards
Pay: $19.25-$23.00 per hour
