Supporting both the Birth Unit and Adult Surgery, the Ward Clerk performs a variety of reception and clerical duties required for the efficient operation of the unit. Responsibilities include but are not limited to utilization of OBTV and Meditech data entry on all patients, including admission, transfer and discharge; ordering of lab specimens; ordering and maintaining supplies; transport functions; answering phones; assembling discharge and assessment charts.
Monday - Friday; 7.5-hour shifts.

High School Diploma or GED required

Graduate from a recognized Office Administration Program preferred

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and other computer programs/technology (testing may be conducted on shortlisted candidates)

Knowledge of SAP an asset

Knowledge of Medical Terminology an asset

Knowledge of Meditech preferred

Experience using OBTV preferred

Keyboarding skills minimum of 40 wpm required, 60 wpm is preferred (testing may be conducted on shortlisted candidates)
