Registered Nurse – Emergency Department
Location: Campbellton, New Brunswick

Schedule: Rotating shifts – Days, Nights, Weekends
Shift Length: 8- and 12-hour shifts
Salary: $45 – $55 per hour
Bilingualism (English and French) is preferred but not mandatory.
About the Position
We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join the Emergency Department at a Hospital in Campbellton, New Brunswick.
This is a permanent, full-time position with a rotating schedule that includes days, nights, and weekends. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive nursing care, continuously monitor patients, recognize potential complications, and respond promptly in emergency situations.
The RN may also be required to work across different nursing units and accompany patients during transfers.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess patient needs and participate in the planning, delivery, and evaluation of nursing care.
- Monitor patients’ health conditions on an ongoing basis.
- Recognize potential complications and respond quickly to emergency situations.
- Provide safe, compassionate, and evidence-based nursing care.
- Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
- Work independently while contributing effectively to the healthcare team.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and follow organizational policies and professional standards.
- Support patient transfers when required.
Requirements
- Current registration with the College of Nursing of New Brunswick.
- Minimum 1 year of relevant clinical nursing experience within the past 5 years.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Cardiac Arrhythmia course, or willingness to complete it within the required timeframe.
- Emergency Critical Care certification or equivalent, or willingness to obtain it.
- ACLS certification, or willingness to obtain it.
- TNCC certification, or willingness to obtain it.
- PALS certification, or willingness to obtain it.
- Non-Violent Crisis Intervention certification.
- CTAS (Triage) training, or willingness to complete it within the required timeframe.
- Ability to successfully complete required certification programs for delegated emergency department functions.
- Bilingualism (English and French) is preferred but not mandatory.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
- Strong professional ethics, reliability, and commitment to patient confidentiality.
Preferred Qualifications
Candidates with the following may be considered particularly strong:
- Emergency Department experience.
- Recent acute care or emergency nursing experience.
- Experience with cardiac emergencies and patient stabilization.
- Additional emergency or critical care training.
- Bilingual communication skills in English and French is preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience working in fast-paced healthcare environments.
