Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Dental Administrator to oversee the daily operations of our dental practice. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing administrative tasks, coordinating patient care, and ensuring the smooth functioning of the office. This role requires excellent organizational skills, familiarity with dental and medical office procedures, and the ability to supervise staff effectively. The Dental Administrator plays a vital role in maintaining a professional and efficient environment that delivers exceptional patient service.
Responsibilities
- Manage patient scheduling, billing, and insurance processing using Dentrix or similar practice management software
- Oversee administrative staff, including training, supervision, and performance evaluations
- Maintain accurate electronic medical records and ensure compliance with privacy regulations
- Handle human resources functions such as staffing, onboarding, and employee records
- Coordinate with dental professionals to ensure efficient clinic operations
- Assist with budgeting and supply inventory management to optimize practice resources
- Ensure adherence to medical terminology standards and clinical protocols
- Support patient communication and resolve administrative issues promptly
- Facilitate compliance with healthcare regulations and documentation requirements
- Collaborate with other healthcare departments if applicable, including hospital or nursing units
Skills
- Proficiency in Dentrix or similar dental practice management software
- Strong knowledge of electronic medical records systems and healthcare IT tools
- Familiarity with medical terminology and clinical procedures in dentistry and healthcare settings
- Previous experience in dental office administration or medical office management
- Supervising experience in a healthcare environment, demonstrating leadership capabilities
- Knowledge of human resources practices including staffing, training, and employee relations
- Experience with budgeting, inventory control, and resource planning in a healthcare setting
- Background in hospital or nursing environments, especially in acute care settings (nice-to-have)
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to multitask effectively
- Strong communication skills to interact professionally with patients, staff, and external partners
Pay: $28.00-$35.00 per hour
