We are looking to add a Quality Technician to our Quality team. This role is based in Ancaster, Ontario.

As a member of the Quality team, the Quality Technician reports to the Quality Manager. The Quality Technician is an on shift resource to address quality issues. The main responsibilities are to address nonconforming products or scrap issues, and to conduct audits.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Monitors processes to ensure quality requirements are maintained across all shifts
Identifies and drives scrap reduction initiatives from a shop floor level
Reviews and dispositions product as required per Non Conformance Report (NCR) procedure
Reviews control plan and all other process documentation for improvement opportunities
Addresses internal quality issues, complaints, and concerns
Oversees containment activities for internal and customer issues across all shifts
Directs and trains operators as required
Participates in layered process audits, annual layouts and process control plan audits
Participates in IATF16949 Internal Audits as required
Participates in APQP process and other teams as required
Takes on part responsibility for a group of products, addressing any documentation, NCR material and deviations.
Acts as back up for metallurgical lab technicians, gauge technicians, and quality engineers for vacation/absence coverage
Accurately collects data using various measuring machines (CMM) and gauges
Participates in continuous improvement initiatives
Adheres to Stackpole’s policies and procedures
Adheres and supports Stackpole’s Safety and Environmental policies and practices
Other duties as assigned

Requirements

Qualifications:
Candidates with a Powder Metallurgy Technologist (PMT) Certification level 1 will be preferred, successful candidate will be required to obtain certification
Manufacturing Engineering Degree or Diploma or equivalent education and work experience

Technical & Skill Requirements:
Excellent mathematical and analytical skills
Familiar with SPC
Familiar with IATF16949 requirements
Proficient with Microsoft Office
Excellent work attendance record
Positive attitude and passion to exceed all quality and quantity specifications
Demonstrated acceptable level of English and Mathematical skills.
Endurance, flexibility and energy level must be high
Able to communicate effectively, both written and verbally, at all levels of the organization
High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results orientation
