We are looking for a motivated and talented Analyst, Investment Counsel Services to join our team. The Analyst will be responsible for providing operations support to our investment counselling business.

Key Accountabilities

Investment Counsel Services

Portfolio Administration

Manage new and existing high net worth client accounts and portfolio set up
Maintain and update client information for billing, statements, and tax reporting
Assist with the preparation and generation of client statements and ad-hoc reporting
Generate management fees and complete invoicing for sub-advisory fees
Facilitate credit, debit, and internal transfer transactions with custodian
Cash management of client accounts including FX transfers
Assist with annual tax reporting requirements
Participate in inter-department cross training to ensure continuity of service
Remain current on latest regulatory obligations and administrative requirements for the firm
Be involved with on-going project work – regulatory, process improvement, etc.

Portfolio Maintenance, Trades Execution, Reconciliation & Settlement

Complete daily cash and securities reconciliation and resolve any trade discrepancies
Set up equity and fixed income securities in our wealth management system
Pro-active management of failed trades
Review Corporate Actions transactions for accuracy
Maintain and rebalance SMA strategies
Propose trades to rebalance client asset allocation as per client’s investment policy statement
Execute trade orders on mutual funds and securities
Regular involvement in problem resolution and investigations with custodial and trade counterparts

Service & Support

Support Investment Counsellors with client onboarding, ongoing administration, and ad-hoc requests
Prepare performance reconciliation
Provide assistance to other team members and management team when required

Job Requirement:
Bachelors’ degree or College diploma
2+ years equivalent work experience in the financial services industry
Experience in mid-office, back office and front office operations
High Net Worth market experience strongly preferred
Successful completion or enrolment in the Canadian Securities Course
Knowledge of and experience with securities instruments/settlement, foreign exchange, reconciliation, and investment accounting
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Strong PC skills with advanced working knowledge of Microsoft office applications (especially Microsoft Excel)
Knowledge of wealth management software i.e. FundSERV, and Bloomberg an asset
Demonstrate initiative and take responsibility
Superb communication and interpersonal skills
Strong interpersonal and relationship management skills with the ability to work as a team
Desire to work successfully and collaboratively in a sophisticated and demanding business environment
Demonstrate tact and professionalism and maintain confidentiality
