Located amidst the 30,000 islands of Georgian Bay and a 2.5-hour drive north of Toronto, the Town of Parry Sound offers an exceptional quality of life. Join us as a Parks & Recreation Attendant (TEMPORARY), an important member of the Parks & Recreation Department. It is anticipated that this position will end on or about May 31, 2020.
The successful applicant will be responsible to assist in the operation and maintenance of the Corporation’s recreation facilities and properties. This includes an arena, outdoor ice rinks and parks; as well as in the development and delivery of recreation programs and special events.

The successful applicant must have at a grade 12 graduation certificate or equivalent, and a valid “G” drivers license. Experience in parks and recreation facilities maintenance and certification through ORFA (Ontario Recreation Facilities Association) as an ice technician and ground technician are desirable assets. Good communication and public relations skills are required for this position.
This is a full-time permanent unionized job with a 2019 starting wage at $25.96/hour. Subject to a successful 5-month probationary period, the wage rises to $28.53 at 100% job rate. There are two schedules for hours of work. The winter schedule consists of 4-ten hours shifts per week on a rotating basis working either 6:30am to 4:30PM or 2:00pm to 12:30 AM. The summer schedule consists of 4-nine hours shifts per week working 7:00AM to 4:00PM.
