The Best Western Plus Sands is looking for a part time front desk agent. We are a family friendly hotel who aims to have our guests feel like part of our extended family. Our property boasts 121 guest rooms, 2 restaurants and a golf simulator lounge! The candidate must be able to multitask and work well in a team.
Our ideal candidate will have a genuinely warm presence, friendly & sincere nature, drive for service excellence, internally proud, and outwardly gracious and humble. They would be a consummate hospitality professional who creates memorable moments for our guests and warmly and genuinely engages our guests and their fellow colleagues, keeping our workplace productive, professional and fun!
Qualifications:
- Excellent computer skills including MS Word, Excel and hotel operating systems
- Strong communication skills in English, verbal and written. Additional languages are an asset
- Diploma or degree in hospitality is an asset, but not required
- Must be able to implement and maintain Best Western standards, policies and procedures
- Walking and standing for long periods of time is required
- General knowledge of the city, attractions and hotel facilities
- Ability to keep guest information secure
- Must be willing to work alone
- Being ok with animals as we are a pet friendly hotel!
- We are a 24/7 front desk, so weekends, holidays and evenings will be required
Duties:
- Answer guest inquiries in person and via phone
- Answer phone calls and direct as necessary
- Implement Best Western policies and procedures
- Check-in and out guests
- Assist guests with any requests or information
- Ability to assist guests with luggage when bellperson not on duty
- Assist guests with making reservations
