Job Purpose
Glacier FarmMedia (“GFM”) is a dynamic company in the Canadian agriculture industry that connects with farmers through a variety of regional and specialty media franchises, a listings marketplace for the sale of farm equipment, leading industry events like Ag in Motion and Canada’s Outdoor Farm Show and customized offerings for Weather and Market analysis and insights. This role is an individual contributor who is part of a collaborative, cross-functional team.
In this role, reporting directly to the Manager, Financial Planning & Analysis, the Analyst, Financial Planning & Analysis is responsible for financial operations, technical accounting, financial reporting and month-end at Glacier Farm Media.
Duties and responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and in-year forecasts, including scenario planning and variance analyses.
- Analyze and prepare reports on financial and non-financial metrics against the company’s key performance indicators.
- Build and maintain financial models to support various projects and new lines of business.
- With the Manager, Financial Planning & Analysis, partner with leaders across the organization to support financial and non-financial analyses to drive company performance.
- Preparation of monthly financial reports, including ad hoc reporting.
- Review and prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliation, investigating and correction of discrepancies.
- Support financial system upgrades and new implementation projects.
- Support internal and external audit requests.
- Support the parent company’s (Glacier Media Group) accounting and financial reporting functions.
- Ability to act as a team player with other finance teams to support other initiatives as required.
- Perform other duties as required.
Qualifications
- CPA designation or working towards a CPA designation.
- Minimum of 2 years of related experience.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, organizational and time management skills.
- Strong computer skills with working knowledge of Excel and ERP systems.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to identify and improve processes to drive efficiencies.
- Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Comfortable working in a dynamic environment
- Experience in the agricultural industry an asset
Working Conditions
- Remote/Hybrid
- This is a position that is exempt from claiming overtime. The role is trusted with substantial control over their hours to generate the results required by this job description. This role is expected to work the hours necessary to achieve the results compensated for by the annual salary.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $65,000.00-$70,000.00 per year
