Reporting to the Project Managers, the Restoration Team Leader has an advanced understanding of restoration techniques used in mitigation and cleaning methods utilized in structural and content restoration as well as organizational effectiveness of warehouse storage and time management skills. Duties include overseeing the successful productivity of the department while working alongside their crew to manage drying, cleaning or demolition strategies, list, photograph, clean, pack, store and deliver restorable and non-restorable content using our pack out and inventory system.
This position also assists in overseeing and managing our cleaning and janitorial activities as they relate to active contracts and work.
This position requires collaboration and coordination with all Company executives, leaders, and support staff in order to develop best practices and achieve performance goals to ensure operational excellence, superior service, and effective claims management.
SITE SUPERVISION, MITIGATION AND CONTENT MANAGEMENT .......................................... 70%
Attend loss locations in person to assess damage, causes of loss, and quantum reserves for coverage assessment and authorization authority to business partners
Physically execute required site strategies related to containment, demolition, drying in place, mitigation, odor control, equipment installation and monitoring
Coordinate and dispatch staffing requirements for efficient turnaround of processing time
Utilize technology such as Encircle to document damage, reporting, and loss control measures
Ensure content is properly and effectively listed, photographed, packed, cleaned, stored and returned throughout the restoration process as required (includes restorable and non-restorable content)
Coordinate with experts such as electronics, textiles, antique, collectible, artwork, or specialty vendors and the Project Manager to arrange for assessment, quotation, processing, continued storage or return of restored content
Maintain detailed file management notes and audit of profitability and financial health of projects with detailed management of supplies, materials, and labor
Create and manage work authorization, change of work orders, and client communications regarding scopes of work, production, and storage schedules
Coach, manage and provide direction to production crews on site for applications of required work and ensure scopes of work are followed
Coordinate with the Project Manager, Project Manager Assistant, Adjusters and Homeowners for set-up of viewing and disposal of non-restorable items
Obtain necessary sign off to allow for disposal of content
Oversee and maintain stock and organization of the content and janitorial consumable products
Work under time constraints to meet specific timelines
Ensure attention to detail and keen sense of safeguarding other people’s property and information
Will practice good housekeeping at all times to ensure a safe and non-cluttered worksite
Participates in and demonstrates an understanding of safety principles and practices; follows all safety policies and procedures to support
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree, and/or insurance-related education certifications
Knowledge of, and experience in, developing and managing budgets

IICRC certification in Water Damage Restoration Technician is an asset ● 3-5 years’ experience in content restoration
2+ years’ leadership experience
Knowledge and experience with chemical products, disposal and use on varying surfaces
Construction / Insurance experience preferred
Comprehensive understanding of customer service, principles and practices
Class 5 Alberta Drivers’ License
Ability to work within a team or independently as needed
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Proven ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment
Intermediate to advanced computer and/or tablet/iPad experience with Microsoft Office programs such as Excel, Word and Google Suite
Willing to work evenings, on call and weekends when requested
Periodic travel may be required
